LightHouse (michigan)

Lighthouse was established in 2019 when Lighthouse of Oakland County and South Oakland Shelter combined forces and merged agencies. LOC was founded in 1972 and started with a group of volunteers who provided food and clothing from the back door of a local church. With over 80 years of combined experience, Lighthouse aims to be a Beacon of Hope to our neighbors who need us the most. Families turn to us seeking support for the most basic of needs such as food or shelter.  

Lighthouse and ABC Society agreed to collaborate on a pilot project to serve as a team, by providing Life Coaching service to initially a selected few clients and later expand the reach to their whole client group. While Lighthouse will continue to support them with shelter and food supply, ABC Society will supplement their service by guiding the clients to increase self-awareness, defining their essence and purpose, and empowering them to improve their well-being by making intentional life choices.

Are known simply as Dolby is a company specializing in audio noise reduction, audio encoding/compression, spatial audio, and HDR imaging. 

ABC Society established a working partnership with Dolby University Recruiting team and POSSE

Foundation (https://www.possefoundation.org/) to provide One-on-One Life Coaching Series as

part of their workshop program. The focus group were students from minority backgrounds. ABC Society Coaches provided Career and ‘Life Purpose Compass’ Coaching to 14 students under the sponsorship of Dolby University Recruiting Team to empower them for their career readiness.
